Cotton
Cotton is a soft cellulose fiber that offers uncountable benefits, like strength, breathability and softness. It is also sustainable and biodegradable.
To go one step further, we also use organic GOTS certified cotton in our laces.Ideal for everyone sensitive - and gentle on the environment due to forgoing the use of chemical pesticides.
-
Recycled Materials
ECO-CARETM: This is a type of recycled Polyamide yarn. Limiting the wastefulness during production and winning back homogeneous Polyamide to re-use.
EcoSmartTM: Recycled Elastane, produced by using waste during warping, residual yarns and other pre-consumer waste. -
Viscose
Viscose production uses up less water than the production of other favored fibers like cotton. It is also as smooth as silk to the touch & mixed with other fibers it makes the hand feel just that much softer.
It also takes colors extremely well and allows for multicolored dyeing.
-
NAIA TM
The raw material for this yarn is sourced only from sustainably managed pine and eucalyptus wood and produced in a closed cycle. NAIA™️ is also certified to be biodegradable in an environment with fresh water and soil, as well as compostable in an industrial environment. Our CHANTY lace fabrics produced with this Naia™️ yarn are extremely soft and comfortable, they feel cool to the touch and offer effortless elegance.

Modal
Modal is made from sustainably sourced beech wood. A naturally soft cellulosic fiber, that is biodegradable and compostable.
The Modal fibers are extracted from naturally grown beech wood. The whole process is self sufficient in energy.
Modal makes any fabric that little bit smoother and emphasizes the designs beautifully. -
Tencel
Tencel is a a man made cellulose fibre made from eucalyptus wood. It offers enhanced strength, durability and moisture absorption.
The sourcing process follows the strict guidelines of the Wood and Pulp Policy, to ensure the protection of ancient and endangered forests.
The production of this material is based on a closed loop process.
The material is sustainably sourced and come directly from the suppliers in Europe into our laces.
We compiled some tips for you to get you going!
-
Wash it
First of all, we recommend you wash the lace textiles before any further processing or at least before first wear. During the dyeing process the laces are washed, so there should be no shrinkage if you keep to the washing instructions.
-
Before sewing
Keep in mind, unless stated otherwise, elastic lace textiles are only stretchable in one direction: the length.
The 'stretchiness' of the width comes from all the holes of the design. To keep the design clean, take care not to stretch the laces too much while sewing. -
Storage
For storage, we wrap up the laces and place them in packaging no light can reach, but when cutting and rolling the lace - there are many people touching them. We take hygiene very serious, but also it is always 'better safe than sorry'!
-
Elasticity & Stretching
If you are interested in lace textiles that stretch in all directions, then look at our 'Extra Stretch' Laces. These are stretchable in all directions by design.
Stretchty in width & length. -
Cutting designs out
There are some laces where you can cut out part of the design.
It is pretty obvious where that is possible without unraveling the whole thing. Then you can use the different parts of the lace as trimmings. -
Setting the scene
If you got yourself some Galloon laces - the ribbons with symmetrical edges - then you may want to work the edges into your project. There are several benefits.
Most importantly: No need to hem the edges -
Tools for working with lace
Scissors, thin needles (most recommend 60-70 NM) - if you got elastic lace, better use stretch needles.
No need for extra special tools, use what you have to sew! -
Stitch it
Use zigzag stitch or French stitch and maybe a pattern you can put under the lace textile.
For a more delicate touch, hand sew the laces together.
Please note
Color Accuracy
Please note that although we do our best to represent our lace stock and colors with as accurately as possible, both in descriptions and imagery, colors may vary according to factors such as florescent lighting or the settings of your computer screen and can therefore only be an approximation of the actual product.
In the occurrence of such a case, please understand that these potential discrepancies are unintentional.
Technical Values
All Technical Information is derived from the average measured values of dyed material lots. The accuracy of these values depends heavily on the number of available dye lots that have been measured - which can vary heavily from article to article.
The depicted technical values are the averages from the available lots. The actual technical values may vary up to 10 percent points.
